Museum of President Jacques Chirac

Located in Sarran, in the south-east of the Massif des Monédières in Corrèze, the museum of President Jacques Chirac houses the collection of objects offered to the President in the exercise of his two mandates (1995-2007).

The vocation of the museum is above all to offer, around 150 gifts permanently presented , a look at the world of today. These objects in fact constitute so many tangible and symbolic traces of the international meetings and events which marked the two terms of Jacques Chirac as President of the Republic .

The museum opens its doors in a resolutely contemporary setting: a set of buildings with pure lines, imagined by one of the masters of contemporary architecture, Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

The museum of President Jacques Chirac is a museum which benefits from the Musée de France label .It was produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the National Land Use Planning and Development Fund, the European Union, the Ministry of the Interior and the Limousin Regional Council.
